The Middlesbrough Riverside Vaccination Centre is in need of volunteers to help them make sure that vaccination remains a quick and easy process for everyone.
If you could spare a few hours a week, you could play a vital role in supporting the NHS to vaccinate people living in your community as the COVID-19 booster programme gets underway.
No prior experience or specialist skills are needed – just a passion to help and care for people and help them feel at ease.
Volunteers are asked to sign up to a minimum of four hours a week with duties including offering support to patients before and after their vaccination as well as making sure people’s journey through the centre is quick, easy and seamless.
Since opening in March 2021, the Centre has seen over 64,000 people getting their vaccine. Volunteers have been a key part of the programme and now they are looking to recruit more.
Jo Crook, Operations Manager at the Centre, said “We are constantly delighted by how much people want to help us with the vaccination efforts and our volunteers are such an important part of that – but we need more. I would encourage anyone who has a few hours to spare to join us and help us deliver the vaccination programme and play their part in getting us all back to normal”.
